Ramen tastes like Jinya but no line. I'm super impressed that I can get in and out and have such amazing ramen so close to the house. Got a cool little sushi bar too. The only thing surprising was that it wasn't completely full of people. I don't often write reviews but started this one after the first bite. Also, just a regular guy who's also eaten at every Ramen place in Atlanta, including the big three- Shoya, Okiboro, Yakitori

I was very impressed when I ordered their ramen on doordash and had it delivered to my home because it was packaged perfectly and was still warm enough for me to enjoy it. The spices and noodles were great quality and the ramen was enough for me to have for dinner. I would definitely try more items on their menu in-person to get another taste of their other options.

This is a cute place and the food was good overall. I liked that the gyoza was piping hot and really good. K ordered the pork tonkatsu, but prefers a more authentic one with black chili oil. He liked the bamboo shoots and the egg was better than his favorite place, but he said he wouldn't come back here over Umaido. The noodles are like regular ramen noodles, which I like more, but the soup is more garlicky than I like. I like the assortment of sushi though. I ordered the Shrimp Crunch Roll, but instead was given the Super Crunch Roll. K said he would eat the raw salmon so we kept it. I re-ordered the one I really wanted and liked it a lot. I would come back for it, although I will have to make it clear which one I want. We didn't love the salad and ginger dressing, which I usually love at hibachi restaurants, but this one is not my preference.

Hole in the wall ramen spot we stumbled upon. The flavor is definitely more Korean than Japanese style. Broth is very light and noodles were good. We didn't get to try any sushi but ramen hit the spot for us. It wasn't the best but it's a good place to get your ramen fix if you're craving some in John's creek area.

Amidst the bustle of the city, nestled away in a humble corner, lies a treasure trove of flavors - a ramen joint where the broth is simmered to perfection, and the noodles are the stuff of dreams. The spicy chicken ramen is a revelation, with just the right balance of heat and umami topped with perfectly fried slices of tonkatsu and ground pork, while the Ichiraku ramen was a delicious ode to tradition with a creamy chicken broth with chicken katsu, perfectly soft boiled eggs, bamboo shoots, and corn. The dishes stood out with the inclusion of one of my favorite chili powders in the world; authentic Japanese Nanami Togarashi chili powder, a blend of red chili peppers, orange peel, black sesame, white sesame, Japanese pepper, ginger, and seaweed. The complex mixture of flavors added a delightful dimension to the already spectacular ramen. We admittedly went excessive by ordering a fried 'Hit Roll', but it was a revelation, reminding me of my beloved jalapeno poppers, but with an incredible addition of smoky salmon flavor. It was so good that I might just have to borrow this idea for my own jalapeno poppers from now on. The combination of the smoked salmon and cream cheese with a touch of heat from the jalapenos and sriracha, with the sweetness of the eel sauce, was an absolute delight, and I can't recommend it enough. As we slurped up the noodles, we couldn't help but notice their perfect texture. The chef, working in front of us, must have read our minds, as he asked how we liked them. When we told him that they were spot-on, he explained that he'd been searching for the right noodles for years and thanks to his wife's fluency in Japanese, he'd finally found them from a Japanese supplier. One thing to note is their spicy scale, which officially ranges from one to five. Yet, for the daring and the bold, I highly recommend the level 10, which delivered a fiery kick that was just perfect. For the second time, our meal was filled with laughter thanks to the staff; a charming, Korean husband and wife team, who were warm and welcoming, adding to the already wonderful experience. In short, this is a spot that should not be missed, a true gem that will leave your taste buds singing with joy. The experience was nothing short of amazing, and I can't wait to come back and try more of their menu.

Great joint for ramen! I personally prefer AKU's ramen much more than the nearby RAKKAN's ramen. I got the spicy pork ramen, which you can choose a level of spice from 1-5. Really yummy!

I really enjoyed Aku Sushi Ramen! I'm kind of mad though that it took me this long to final try this intimate little gem of a restaurant. I've passed by this restaurant a dozen or so times a week. We ordered takeout from this local restaurant and packaging during both visits were so awesome. Probably the best ramen to go packaging I've ever seen. Really enjoyed the tonkatsu ramen. They gave a pretty generous portion of noodles and all the fixings that go inside of a Japanese ramen. The pork belly was cooked well. My egg loving self was eggstatic to see a whole egg (sliced) instead of a half sliced egg that came with my ramen. Totally awesome! I get sad when I order a ramen at a restaurant and only see one half of an sliced egg in there. Ok, enough off my egg soapbox... The sushi rolls we ordered on both visits were great. Fresh, generous portion/size, and a nice presentation. Also, I loved the iced citron drink they have on the menu. Super refreshing and add on to our dinner. I really appreciated the fairly prompt turnaround from placing the order to when it was ready. Come out and support this local mom & pop restaurant! Aku Sushi Ramen is located in the same plaza as Honey Baked Ham and Piece of Cake. I will be back soon to try some of their other items on the menu!
